6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Neely Methodist Protestant Church, for Mr. Lary E. Byrd, age 77, of Neely, who passed from this life on August 24, 2024 at his residence.  Bro. Charlie Laird, Bro. Reggie Smith, and Bro. Terry Floyd will officiate the service with burial to follow at Buffalo Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Reese Green, Conner Green, Keaton Byrd, Coleman Smith, Laren Turner, and Hayden West.

Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents, Tyra and Anna Ruth Byrd; twin girls, Laurie Jean and Tyree Lynn; grandparents, William Travis and Flora Byrd, and Ervin and Mary Anna Bufkin.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Byrd of Neely; son, Travis (Rebecca) Byrd of Neely; grandchildren, Reese (Kaitlyn) Green, Conner Green, Keaton Byrd, and Kayleigh Byrd, all of Neely; great-grandchildren, Brix Cooley and Kamie Green, of Neely; and aunt, Genell Ishee of Bay Springs.

Mr. Byrd worked for International Paper Company for 17 years and Yates Construction for 17 years, and finished his career as a construction superintendent with Bracken Construction.  He enjoyed farming and woodworking and most of all, spending time with his family.  He is fondly remembered by many that worked for him as being a good, fair, and loveable guy.  He attended Neely Methodist Protestant Church.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Neely Methodist Protestant Church.
