Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Moselle for Mr. LaRue Carter, age 87, of Moselle. Mr. Carter passed from this life on January 19, 2025 at his residence. The interment will be in Bullock Cemetery of Seminary. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Setliff, Sidney Smith, David Carter, Scott McCall, Hiram McCall, Scottie McCall with Jim Carter as the alternate.

LaRue was born on June 9, 1937, to John Otis and Pauline Riles Carter. He served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the Baptist faith and served as a deacon while he lived in Florida. He worked as a diesel mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Patricia Carter; parents; daughter, Debby Thompson; son, Mike Chambliss; one sister and three brothers.

Mr. Carter is survived by his daughters, Kathy Jean Setliff of Petal, Martha Lynn (Scott) McCall of Horseshoe Beach, FL and Denise Douglas of Cross City, FL; son, David Keith (Whitney) Carter of Moselle; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Moselle.
