Services will be held for Mr. Lamar Sims, age 72, of Beaumont, MS in the Beaumont First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2023. Mr. Sims passed from this life on August 14, 2023 at Merit Health Wesley. Bro. John Sapp will officiate with burial to follow in the Beaumont City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Colton Guinn, Brandon Smith, Barron Nicholas, James Bardwell, Grayson Smith and Dale Carnahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Knight and Gaines Stoop.

Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lamar and Vivian Raenelle Sims, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Sims, of Beaumont; son, Scott Sims (Amelia Crager); daughter, Michelle Hartfield (William McPhail) of Sumrall; grandchildren, Laken Craft, Alex (Darian) Sims, Haley (Brandon) Smith, Taylor Odom, Matalee Odom, Michaela (Dylan) Bloodworth, James Bardwell, Brandon (Erin) Hartfield and Colton (Ashtin) Guinn; great-grandchildren, William, Stephanie and Hannah McPhail, Dylan Smith, Greyson Smith, Barron Nicholas, Tate Craft, Taylor Craft, Caston Bloodworth, Cassie Sims and one on the way, Emmalynn Grace; sisters, Donna Sizemore of Petal, Diane Rogers of McLain, and Raenita Miller of Beaumont.

Mr. Sims loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping. He served 41 years, including Desert Storm, in the Army National Guard.
