Graveside services for Mr. L. J. "Jack" Hinton, age 86, of Petal will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal.  Mr. Hinton passed from this life on November 23, 2024 in Hattiesburg.  Rev. David Crim will officiate the service.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Riels, Al Korman, Bill Moore, Rodney Gerald, Tony Davis, and Ray Hinton.

Mr. Hinton was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Petal.  He was a retired food vendor with Coca Cola after 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Hinton; 2nd wife, Barbara Kirk Hinton; father, Lazarus Hinton; mother, Beatrice Broome Hinton Williamson; brother, Keith Hinton.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Dale) Dykes of Petal; son, Wendell (Becky) Hinton of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Joshua (Beth) Dykes of Gulfport, Jessica Dykes (Jay) Riels of Moselle, great grandchildren, River Riels and Reese Riels, both of Moselle; sisters, Mary McLendon of Beaumont, Betty (Ray) Hinton of Petal, and Linda Gandy of Lux; brothers, Kenneth Hinton of Beaumont, Billy (Jean) Hinton of Dixie, Winfred (Keri) Hinton of New Augusta, and Jackie (Jacklyn) Williamson of Richton; as well as a host of other relatives.
