On May 4, 2023, Kathleen Smith Jackson beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend past from this life to her eternal life at age 80. Kathleen was born in Covington County, MS on 7/29/1942 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington County, MS. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Moselle. Bro. Steve Mackender will officiate with burial to follow in the Walters Cemetery of Seminary. Pallbearers will be Billy Aaron Welch, Chad Dwayne Jackson, Justin Scruggs, Jackson Hill, Hunter Grantham and Hayes Grantham. Honorary pallbearers will be David Scruggs, Harmon Hill, Rickey Hill and Lynn Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Michael Jackson; grandson, Michael Wayne Jackson; parents, Barney and Connie Smith; and brothers, Billie Clifton Smith and Steve Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Leon Jackson of Seminary; son, Larry (Lynn) Jackson of Seminary; daughters, Denine (David) Scruggs, Pamela (Rickey) Hill of Ellisville and Dedra (Harmon) Hill of Sandersville; grandchildren, Billy Aaron (Ashley) Welch, Chad (Brandi) Jackson, Brandy (Adam) Grantham, Justin (Paige) Scruggs, Jackson Hill and Sydnie Hill; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Barney Smith of Florida; sisters, Janie (Wilton) Rowell of Seminary, Margaret Talbot (Bill) Mundell of Baton Rouge, LA, Carolyn (Rick) Williams of Laurel and Sue (Ronnie) Hartfield of Petal; and beloved dog, Pee Wee.

Nothing gave her more joy than watching her children and grandchildren grow and prosper in life. She spent every moment she could showering each of them with love. She loved collecting porcelain birds and dinner bells. She also had a love for flowers and watching the hummingbirds play.

We want to thank South Central Hospice Comfort Care for the love and care that each one showed for our mother. She loved each one of them. And a very special thank you to her care giver and granddaughter, Brandy.

A mother is one who can take the place of all others but, whose place no one can ever take.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Moselle.
