Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Richton for Mrs. Joyce Cooley, age 84, of Richton. Mrs. Cooley passed from this life on February 7, 2025, in the Perry County Nursing Center. Bro. Herbert Wiggers and Bro. Kenny Dykes will officiate with burial to follow in the Edwards Cemetery of Richton. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane White, Jim Hinton, Troy Hinton, Jr., Michael Blake, Bryan Henderson, Winston Henderson with Randell Henderson as the alternate.

Joyce was born on September 28, 1940, to Curtis and Lois Hinton Edwards. She was a member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. After 28 years of service, Joyce retired from the Perry County General Hospital where she worked as the Dietary Manager. She enjoyed gardening, reading and bird watching.

Mrs. Cooley was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Cooley; sons, Darrell Cooley and Royce Cooley; parents and sister Helen Carter.

She is survived by her sons, Mick (Angie) Cooley and Kevin Cooley both of Richton; brother-in-law, Jerry Carter of Richton; grandchildren, Kayla (Robert) McLendon, Curtis Cooley and Kasey Cooley and great-grandchildren, Isabella Penton, Bethany McLendon and Bexley McLendon.

Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton.
