Visitation for Mr. John L. Wright, age 78, of Laurel, will be Saturday, June 28, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home of Moselle. He will be buried at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.

Mr. Wright worked for Milwaukee County for 20 years as a Sanitation Engineer. After retiring and moving to Laurel, MS, he owned and operated a car detailing business. He loved to ride motorcycles, take care of his yard and cut grass. He was the life of the party and always lit up a room. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing pool.

He was preceded in death by his son, John L. Wright, Jr.; parents, J.C. Wright and Bertha Lee Yancey and siblings, Erma Luckett, Edward Jackson and Cecil Jackson.

He is survived by his wife Sallie Wright of Laurel; children, Lovely Monroe of Laurel, Samuel Monroe of Milwaukee, WI and Danielle Pugh (Tommy) of Milwaukee, WI; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and sisters, Beverly Jones and Francine Rice (Alonzo).
