John L. Pearce, age 63, of Richton, passed away at his home on November 10, 2025. He was born on December 3, 1961, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

After graduating high school, John began working offshore in the oil field before starting a long career as a log truck driver. In later years, he transitioned into boilermaker maintenance, where he worked until his retirement.

John loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and tending to his garden. He also enjoyed tinkering on cars and cherished every moment spent with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Misti Pearce; his sons, Brandon (Kadie) Pearce, Brady Pearce, and Bailey (Ashley) Pearce; his daughter, Karlee Cooley; his stepchildren, Mason Maher and Ciera (Brandon) Moran; and eight grandchildren who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Loretta Fairley and Elizabeth Merrill.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Pearce, and his brother-in-law, Mike Fairley.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and the kindness he showed to everyone around him.

Funeral services honoring John's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at New Augusta Presbyterian Church.  Interment will follow in the Terrell Cemetery in New Augusta.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Friday, also at the church.
