Services for Mr. Jimmy L. Dickens, age 81, of Sumrall will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Jones and Son Chapel in Hattiesburg.  Mr. Dickens passed from this life on November 19, 2023 at his residence.  Bro. Caleb Rawls will officiate the service.  Serving as pallbeares will be Chip Harris, Tyler Dickens, Brett Dickens, John Mills, Greg Cosse, and Shelby Jones.

Mr. Dickens was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.  He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of the National Guard.

Mr. Dickens was preceded in death by his sons, James Allen Dickens and Ronald Edward Dickens; sisters, Juanice Brewer, Wilene Baker, Brenda Jean Goar, and Earlene Cosse; and parents, Lige and Vondell Reid.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Dickens of Sumrall; daughter, Rita (John) Mills of Crestview, FL; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Utley of Starkville, Jodi (Jimmy) Hernandez of Biloxi, Jennifer Weiss of Atlanta, GA, Joshua Brett (Kyleigh) Dickens of D'Iberville, James Tyler Dickens of Jackson, Kelli Brooke Dickens of Tuscaloosa, AL, Maggie Taylor Dickens of Petal, Evan Dickens fo Tuscaloosa, AL, an Benjamin Allen Dickens of New Orleans, LA; and great grandchildren, Jackson and Declan Utley of Starkville, Addison Taylor of Biloxi, Dawson Layne and Elizabeth Lynn Dickens of D'Iberville, and Kanner Brooke Brummett of Tuscaloosa, AL.
