Mr. Jerry (Bob) Cole, 80 years old, of Oak Grove, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Asbury Hospice House. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove for 45 years. He taught Sunday School, served as a Deacon, and was Minister of Music. He retired from the University of Southern Mississippi where he was a Housing and Maintenance Foreman. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, singing in gospel quartets, and playing the piano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Dymple Cole; daughter, Kimberly Orr; and grandson, David Crenshaw.

Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue Cole; son, Mike Cole, and his wife Robbyn Cole; grandchildren Marissa Sorey, and her husband Nathan; Sara Patterson, and her husband Anthony; Reese Cole, and his wife Olivia; great-grandchildren Tacoma, Gavin, and Lila Sorey, and Aiden, Caleb, and Kylie Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 20, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. for visitation and the service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. Brother Greg Bennett will officiate the service and burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, adjacent to the church building. Jones & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove to further their music ministry that he was so passionate about.
