Gitano United Methodist Church-Soso

4:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 in the Gitano United Methodist Church on Hwy 28 in Soso for Mrs. Elsie Jeanne Blount, age 87, of Laurel. Mrs. Blount passed away peacefully from this life at her residence while being surrounded by her family on October 19, 2023. Bro. Richard Williams will officiate the service. Interment will be at a later date in the Fletcher Family Cemetery of Vancleave at 21000 Old River Road.

Mrs. Blount was born on December 11, 1935 to Andrew Roscoe and Elsie Irene Fletcher. She was a member of Gitano United Methodist Church. She worked as a surgical unit secretary at South Central Reginal Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepchildren, Linda Jones and Benjamin Blount.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Etta Shaidnagle of Laurel; son, Michael Holden of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Jessica Shaidnagle of Laurel and Jason Shaidnagle of Ocean Springs; sister, Arie Christina (Bill) Swift of Vancleave and brothers, John Andrew (Carolyn) Fletcher of Hurley and Havens Roscoe Fletcher of Vancleave.
