Services for Mrs. Jeanette Thomas, age 68, of Lucedale, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Geiger Apostolic Church in Lucedale.  Mrs. Thomas passed from this life on October 21, 2023, at her residence.  Bro. Phillip McKissick, Bro. Coley Dungan, and Bro. Sean Smith will officiate the service and burial will follow in Geiger Apostolic Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Cooley, Shelton McKissick, Aaron McKissick, Paul McKissick, Cy Smith, and Elijah Reeves.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Josiah Moody, Grayson Dungan, Jace Reeves, Gatlin Reeves, Tristan Erkhart, and Logan Erkhart.

Jeanette was a faithful member of the Geiger Apostolic Church where she proudly held the role of church Mawmaw. She wrote beautiful poems and made beautiful stained-glass pieces.  She was a data processor and office manager in the banking industry.  Jeanette was very compassionate as well as a loyal friend and an excellent cook.  She loved fishing and going on adventures with her husband, whom she loved dearly.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Heath Walley; mother, Myrna J. Dueitt; father, Dan S. Cooley, Sr.; grandmother, Katie Dueitt; grandfather, George Daniel Cooley; and grandmother, Francis Celeste Busby Cooley.

She is survived by her husband, John R. Thomas of Leakesville; daughter, Pam (Brooks) Vayda of Collinsville; son, Chris (Alisha) Thomas of Moselle; grandchildren, Maddie Cruse, Emma Cruse, Abbie Cruse, Landon Vayda, Ashlyn Walley Jordan, Dalton Walley, Donovan Jones, and McKaylee Thomas; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Denvia Cooley (Randy) Gibson of Gilbertown, AL; brothers, Dan S. (Marlea) Cooley, Jr. of Tampa, FL, and Cody (Cheryl) Cooley of Leakesville; special friend, Sharon Owen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
