Buck Creek Baptist Cemetery

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Buck Creek Baptist Church for Mrs. Jeanette Hancock, age 89, of Richton.  Bro. Herbert Wiggers will officiate the service with burial to follow at Buck Creek Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jayden Carroll, Kade Carroll, Braxton Lewis, Rylen Lewis, Derrick Lewis, Robert Russum, and Tony Lewis.  Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Shows, Roland Shows, Tucker Shows, and Cayne Shows.

Mrs. Hancock is survived by her sons, Donnie (Suzette) Lewis, and Eli (Jean) Lewis, both of Richton; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Lewis of Sand Hill; daughters, Ann Lewis of Richton and Louise Lewis of Butler, AL; 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ingram; sons, Dannie Lewis, Tommie Lewis, Leon Lewis; parents, Elijah and Maggie Hancock; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Mrs. Hancock was a member of the Buck Creek Baptist Church.  She loved to sew and crochet and was retired as a machine operator at Murray Envelope as well as Mid-South manufactory.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Buck Creek Baptist Church.
