Services for Mrs. Jean Shepard, age 80, of Waynesboro, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Shepard passed from this life on February 7, 2026 in Waynesboro.  Bro. Josh Smith will officiate the service and burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Piave.  Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Garrett, Blake Garrett, Bentley Garrett, Josh Smith, and David Gambill.

Mrs. Shepard was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She greatly enjoyed her plants and gardening and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Mrs. Shepard was a very talented seamstress and lovingly made clothing for many members of her family, a gift that will be treasured for generations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Pete" Shepard; parents, Cecil and Monteal Brewer; son-in-law, Dana Walley; and sisters, Kay Brown and Ruby Henderson.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jean Walley; granddaughters, Tiffany (Josh) Smith and Krista (Joey) Garrett; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Blake, and Bentley Garrett, and Nora Kate Smith; brother, Aubrey (Zabrina) Brewer; her sister, Shirley Lambert.
