Jason Thornton entered this world on July 21, 1970.  In his 54 years, Jason touched many lives and never met a stranger.  He was a true outdoorsman in all aspects.  He loved hunting and fishing, but most of all he was an exceptional turkey hunter, known for his ability to call one up from anywhere.  Jason loved spending time fishing and hunting with his sons, nephews, and grandchildren but most of all his "Honey", Tina.  He worked most of his life in the timber industry where he was known as being the best loader operator around.  He was currently working with Henderson Timber Company in Piave.  Jason's family meant more to him than anything else, and he made sure they knew it.  He was always the one to brighten up a room with his big smile and booming laugh.  He will be deeply missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Joe Thornton; and his nephew, Chase Thornton.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tina Thornton; his children, Mason (Kate) Thornton, Dawson (Caylie) Thornton, Jaci Thornton, Kandyse (Steven) Smith, and Kyce (Shelby) Harris; his grandchildren; Colt, Kynlee, Konner, Kyler, Easton, Aubree, and Stetson; his mother, Mary Ann Thornton; siblings, Mark (Michelle) Thornton, Angie (Robbie) Moss, and Corey Thornton; his nieces and nephews, Logan, Thorn, Taylor, Kristopher, Ashley, Ramsey, Kinley, Hunter, Ryder, Brenner, Asher, River, Dalee, Lakyn, and Kade; and a host of other extended family and an untold number of friends.

Pallbearers will be special friends, Jason Platt, Calvin Stewart, Terry Henderson, JR McDonald, Brett McCoy, Jimbo Nicholson, Kerry Smith, and Mark Floore. Honorary pallbearers are Kyce Harris, Steven Smith, Kyle Pipkins, and Jarrod Lott.

Visitation for Jason will begin at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.  Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Watson and Bro. Chris Adcock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Thornton Family Cemetery.
