A celebration of life memorial will be held to honor the life of Dr. Janie Paige Eubanks, 55, who passed from this world on March 28, 2024, after a long battle with kidney disease.   Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Winborn Chapel Methodist Church in Lucedale, Mississippi,  The service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Janie was born on December 4, 1968 in Starkville, Mississippi.  She began school in Wiggins, Mississippi and graduated from Southwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She then pursued a degree in psychology earning a Bachelor of Science from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.  She continued her education at the University of Missouri earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology.

After graduation, Janie began her career with the state of Texas, where she retired in February 2024 as a Program Specialist VII in the Health and Human Services Commission. Janie married the love of her life, Ralph Henderson, on March 19, 2005.  She dearly loved her family, friends, reading, music, and raising her cats.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Marshall Eubanks; grandparents, Robert and Marteil Breland of Leakesville, MS, Fred and Mildred Eubanks of Lucedale, MS; and her aunt, Rebecca Ann Hodges of Leakesville, MS.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Henderson of Austin, TX; sons, Nicholas (Chingay) Henderson and Charles Henderson; grandsons, Hyam, Henry, and Quinton Henderson all of Santa Fe, NM; mother, Garnet Eubanks of Leakesville, MS; brothers, Yancy (Ramona) of Spartanburg, SC and Trent (Kerri) of Madison, MS; nephews, Kyle (Libby), Austin, Cameron, Braxton; niece, Evelyn Eubanks; and a large loving family.

Officiating the service will be her cousin, Jamie Ham, with Jones and Sons Funeral Home.
