Services for Mrs. Janet Edwards Holland, age 81, of Richton, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Holland passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025.

Born and raised in Richton, Janet graduated from Richton School District, where she was honored as Homecoming Queen of the Class of 1963.  She began her career as a telephone operator with Bell South, later worked at Richton School District, and eventually retired from Petal School District.

Janet was a lifelong member of New Zion Faithway Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as the pianist for many years.  She found joy in her garden and always had a special place in her heart for the many cats she cared for over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Eunice Edwards; and her beloved sons, David and Mark Holland.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Van Holland, Jr.; her sister, Bonnie Edwards James; her daughter-in-law, Chasity Holland; and her cherished grandchildren Sydnie Holland and Mark Holland II.

Janet will be remembered for her steady kindness, her love of music and nature, and her quiet strength.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
