Graveside services for Mr. James Donald Wedgeworth, age 77, of Oak Grove, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Ladner-Muckelrath Cemetery.  Mr. Wedgeworth passed from this life on January 25, 2025 in Collins, Mississippi.  Bro. Scott Murphy will officiate the service.  Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Leggett, Sonny Williford, Gary Hester, David Wedgeworth, Brad Wedgeworth, Trystan Leggett, and Jaxon Williford.

Mr. Wedgeworth was a member of Dixie Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War in Company B Infantry.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, two O/S bars, Marksman (M14 and M16), 1st Class Gunner (M60), and the Combat Infantrymans Badge.  He was a retired pipefitter and journeyman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Delma Wedgeworth.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Gary) Hester of Seminary, Julie (Eddie) Leggett of Hattiesburg, and Hope (Sonny) Williford of Purvis; grandchildren, Kristan Jasinski, Lauren Burrell, Shelby Holston, Kaleb Byrd, Anna Kendrick, Trystan Leggett, and Ava Williford; great grandchildren, Jaxon Williford, Jace Byrd, Tanner Holston, Meredith Burrell, Ella Kendrick, Lincoln Burrell, Luke Burrell, Adeline Byrd, Kase Holston, Mac Kendrick, and Milam Jasinski; brothers, Kenneth Wedgeworth of Anacoco, LA, Wayne Wedgeworth of Rawls Springs, Carl (Tammy) Wedgeworth of Purvis, and Greg (Lynn) Wedgeworth of Rawls Springs.
