A memorial service for Mr. James Larry Sanford, age 73, of Moselle, will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Lowery Creek Baptist Church in Seminary.  Mr. Sanford passed from this life on August 26, 2025 at his residence.  Bro. Charles Brady will officiate the service.

Mr. Sanford was a devoted member of Lowery Creek Baptist Church in Seminary. He was a retired welder with the Mississippi Department of Transportation in Hattiesburg, where he dedicated 35 years of loyal service. Prior to that, he worked for many years at Georgia-Pacific, where he earned the respect of his colleagues for his strong work ethic and steady hand.

Outside of work, Mr. Sanford was an avid outdoorsman. He found great joy in the woods and on the water, especially when fishing for white perch or spending time at the 5-H Hunting Club in Ellisville. His love of nature was matched only by his quiet strength, generosity, and dedication to his family and community.

He will be remembered for his steady spirit, love of the outdoors, and the legacy he leaves in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Sanford; and brother, Eugene "Woodie" Sanford.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Sanford of Moselle; stepsons, Joe (Amber) Wooten of Laurel and Khristopher (Kirsten) Wooten of Moselle; grandchildren, Michael Wooten, Courtney Wooten, Ashlyn Wooten, Waylon Wooten, Braylon Wooten, Byron Wooter, all of Laurel, Kathryn Wooten and Bea Wooten, both of Moselle; great grandchildren, Averlee Beard and Lakely Beard, both of Laurel; mother and step-father, Reba (Author) Grice of Seminary; and brothers, Gary (Judy) Sanford, Michael Ray (Mary) Sanford, and Ronnie Grice, all of Seminary.

Visitation will be from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service
