Services for Mr. James Lamar Freeman, age 83, of Richton, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton.  Mr. Freeman passed from this life on July 27, 2024 at Asbury Hospice House.  Bro. Josh Dunn and Bro. Paul Roney will officiate the service and burial will follow in Odom Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy James, Joseph Williford, Jonah Williford, Swayne Hollinghead, Quinn Moye, and Kenny Bryant.

Mr. Freeman was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richton where he served as a deacon and attended the Golden Circle Sunday School class.  He retired after 35 years from the Richton Public Library where he served as a librarian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Jessie Lee Freeman.

He is survived by his brother, Ernest Dale Freeman of Richton; and sister, Martha Difabio of Middleboro, MA.
