Services will be held for Mr. James L. Eavenson, age 86, of Moselle at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Moselle. Mr. Eavenson died Friday, March 22, 2024, at Merit Health Wesley Hospital. Bro. Allen Ingram will officiate with burial to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery of Seminary. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Webster, Cash Atwood, Dalton Trigg, Garrett Yawn, Heath Beach, Jonathan Magee and Kevin Atwood. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Clark Webster, Eaven Webster, Gary Yawn, Robert Magee and Taylor Sanford.

Mr. Eavenson or more affectionately known as "PawPaw" was a quiet man but, when he had something to say everyone stopped and listened. He was a very hard worker. He spent his life working in the iron working trade. He worked in construction in MS and several surrounding states. When he wasn't working, he loved gardening. In fact, his grandchildren say he planted the longest rows just to keep them there just a little bit longer. Fishing was where he found the most pleasure. And fishing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was his biggest joy. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. "Buck" and Magdalene Eavenson; brothers, Glen and Gerald Eavenson and grandchildren, Robby and Bobby Magee.

He survived by his wife of 65 years, Blanch Eavenson of Moselle; children, Cindy (Robert) Magee, Linwood (Regina) Eavenson both of Seminary and Lisa Eaton of Moselle; grandchildren, Jonathan (Amanda) Magee, Miranda (Kevin) Atwood, Alison (Adam) Webster, Heather (Gary) Magee, Kayce (Heath) Beach and Amy (Dalton) Trigg; 12 great-grandchildren and brothers, Claude (Barbara) Eavenson and Mitchell (Elaine) Eavenson both of Moselle.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Jones and Son Funeral Home of Moselle.
