Services for Mr. Jackson "J.D." Hinton, age 77, of New Augusta, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. Hinton passed from this life on October 2, 2024 at his residence.  Bro. Don Heiden and Bro. Herbert Wiggers will officiate the service and burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Richton.  Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Deken, Jonathan Henry, Ronnie Smith, Jr., Eugene Newsom, Clayton Hinton, Darrell Broom, and Steve Graham as alternate.

Mr. Hinton loved deer and rattlesnake hunting, searching for arrowheads, and metal detecting.  He was a deacon at Prospect Baptist Church.  He was retired from Bell South where he was a cable repair technician with over 37 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorset "Pud" Hinton and Nancy Clementine "Jill" Hinton.

He is survivied by his wife, Patsy Hinton of New Augusta; daughters, Holly (Richard) Deken and Andrea (Jonathan) Henry, both of Madison; stepdaughter, Cassandra "Sandy" (Tony) Reeves of Petal; stepson, Ronnie (Traci) Smith, Jr. of Brandon; grandchildren, Alex Deken, Joseph Deken, and Jackson Henry; step grandchildren, Gabriel Rule and Jaina Crawford; and step great granchild, Brooklyn Rule.
