Jackson Earl Holifield, 90, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2025.

Jack was born in Jones County, Mississippi on February 24, 1935. He attended Myrick High School before serving in the United States Army in Korea. He returned to Jones County and soon thereafter married his sweetheart JoAnn, to whom he was happily wed for 59 years.

Jack was a successful businessman in Richton, Mississippi, including owning and operating Jack's Auto Supply for many years. He was known for his hard work, honesty and integrity. Jack had a reputation of going the extra mile to meet the needs of his customers, many of whom were also his friends. He also had a playful sense of humor and, with a twinkle in his eye, was known to play a practical joke on those around him. A Godly man, he was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Richton. He was fully devoted to his family, to whom he leaves a strong legacy of love and faithfulness.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved JoAnn in 2015. Life without JoAnn was never quite the same, as he mourned her loss every day. But Jack carried on with grace, loving his children and grandchildren, and staying as active as possible. Jack was a worker and always had a project or a job to complete, which was always done well.

Jack is survived by daughters, Tana (Mark), Jackie (Doug), Adele (Ron), and Christy; ten grandchildren (Kalyn, Fagan, Trace, Melissa, Mary Margaret, Molly, Mallory, Alex, Isabel, and Anna); and soon-to-be eleven great grandchildren. In addition to JoAnn, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Holifield and his parents, Lonnie and Evoler Holifield.

A service celebrating Jack's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton. The service will be preceded by visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m., and followed by a graveside burial service at Sunset Cemetery in Richton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church, Richton, MS.

The family will greatly miss Jack's presence here on earth, but we take great comfort in the fact that Jack knew God and is now spending eternity with Him.
