Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2024, in the Unity Baptist Church of Moselle for Mr. Jack Delk, age 81, of Moselle. Mr. Delk went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2024, at his residence. Bro. David Aultman will officiate with burial to follow in the Moselle Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Richard Benoit, Jackson Delk, Wesley Slade, Josh Thrash, Justin Thrash, Jordan Thrash, Nick Slade, Chris Benoit, Tim Benoit and Randy Duhon.

Mr. Delk was preceded in death by his daughter, Babs Delk; son-in-law Mark; parents, Truman and Leona Delk; granddaughter, Katie Steverson, and great-granddaughter, Rory Benoit.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Corley Delk, of Moselle; daughters, Deborah (Doug) Steverson of Ellisville and Bonnie (Mike) King of Bassfield; sons, Jay (Jan) Delk of Ellisville and Joey Delk of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Richard, Jackson, Wesley, Josh (Shelly), Justin (Katherine), Jordan (Hannah), Nick, Chris (Ariel), Tim, Carlie (Randy),  Kimberly (Luke),  Kristen (John) and Teagon (Ethan); 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sam (Beverly) Delk of Fresno, CA and Larry (Helen) Delk of Moselle and sisters, Rosalie Biggs of Moselle and Verda Jones of Sumrall.

Mr. Delk was the founder and owner of Delk's Tire Sales and Service in Hattiesburg for 45 years. He had previously owned a tire sales and service in Florida for 17 years. He was co-owner of Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living in Ellisville and Laurel for 24 years. He was a deacon at Unity Baptist Church in Moselle. While in Florida, he served as a deacon as well for the Metropolitan Baptist and Orlando Baptist Temple in Orlando. Over the years, he was a bus driver and Sunday School teacher for several churches. He enjoyed antique cars, collecting car tags and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to Forrest General Home Health and Hospice and Hattiesburg Clinic Dialysis for the care you gave to their husband and father.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2024, at Jones and Son Funeral Home of Moselle.
