Mrs. Hilda Faye Kitchens, 73, of Ovett, Mississippi, peacefully entered her eternal home on Friday, June 26, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by the love that had filled her life. Born in Laurel, Mississippi, on December 18, 1952, she was the cherished daughter of Edward and Allie Ruth Palmer.

Hilda's greatest joy was found in the people she loved. She treasured every opportunity to gather with her family, sharing stories, laughter, and memories of days gone by. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in celebrating their lives, encouraging them, and surrounding them with unconditional love.

A gifted and creative spirit, Hilda found happiness in crafting and making beautiful things with her hands. In her younger years, she enjoyed athletics and excelled on the basketball court while also developing a love for softball. Her compassionate heart extended beyond people, as she had a deep affection for animals, especially her beloved dog, Elle Mae.

Above all, Hilda loved the Lord. As a faithful member of Victory Heights United Pentecostal Church, her life reflected quiet faith, steadfast devotion, and a sincere desire to serve God. Her hope was firmly anchored in the promises of Christ, and while her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in the assurance that she has exchanged the cares of this life for the peace and joy of her heavenly home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Allie Ruth Palmer.

Those left to cherish her precious memory include her devoted husband, Randell Kitchens; her loving daughters, Melissa (Eric) Beech and Sabrina (Josh) Henderson; her treasured grandchildren, Madison Henderson, Josiah (Carley) Mathis, Mallory Henderson, and Mason Beech; her sisters, Ruth Clark, Sally Wade, and Patricia Langele; her brothers, Jerry Palmer and Dean Palmer; along with a host of extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Though her gentle presence will be deeply missed, Hilda leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, abiding love, compassion, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her family rejoices in the blessed hope that one day they will be reunited with her in the presence of the Lord, where every tear will be wiped away and love will never end.

Funeral services celebrating Hilda's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Victory Heights United Pentecostal Church in Ovett with Bro. Colon Rowell and Bro. Bobby Ross officiating.  Burial will follow in Welcome Home Cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. Kitchens will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, also at the church.
