Tiger Creek Missionary Baptist Church

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Tiger Creek Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Henry Thompson, age 83, of Ovett who died on April 17, 2026.  Bro. Bob Burch and Bro. David Thompson will officiate the service, with burial to follow at Cochran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Boy Woodward, Frank Jones, Robert Bassett, James Jones, Josh Thurman and Brandon Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Margie Thompson, of Ovett; children, David Henry (Stacey) Thompson of Ellisville, Ricky (Vanessa) Thompson, Troy (Ginger) Thompson, Joel Thompson, and Tricia Lynn Rowell, all of Richton, Brenda Griffin of Moselle and Leah Beth (Robert) Bassett of Dixie Community; brother, Odis (Geraldine) Thompson of Richton; and sister, Mary Lee Dupree of Houma, LA.; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Thompson; parents, Fred Thompson and Emma Ingram Thompson; and several brothers and sisters.

Henry was a member of the Tiger Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Ovett and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a welder for over 40 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and loved visiting with everyone, especially the sick.

Visitation will be held  Wednesday, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Tiger Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
