Services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Jones and Son Chapel in Hattiesburg, for Mr. Henry Miller, age 88, of Hattiesburg. Mr. Miller passed from this life on August 31, 2022 at his residence. Rev. Gary Kelly will officiate the service. A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Pallbearers will be Gary Schlautman, Patrick McCaffrey, Blake Weathersby, Eric Adams, Brody Adams, and Oliver Williamson.

Henry was born on December 8, 1933 to Frank and Fannie Clyde Miller in Staley, OK. Henry grew up in Purcell, OK where he was a star athlete. He excelled in all sports but especially football. During the summers he worked as a lifeguard at the public pool. He was later recruited by the Pittsburg Steelers but was drafted and served time in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. When he returned, he met and married the love of his life, Maurine Miller. They share one devoted daughter, Robin McCaffrey Schlautman. Henry retired from Conoco after a long career in the oil industry. Throughout his career he traveled all over the country. He retired in Hattiesburg where his daughter married and started her family. To fill his time after retirement he was employed with the Hattiesburg American for 12 years. After his second retirement, he devoted all his time to his four beloved grandchildren. He attended every birthday party, sporting event, recital, and school program. One of Henry's greatest joys was being "Gampa" to not only his four grandchildren and five great grandchildren but to all that knew and loved him.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Fannie Clyde Miller; and ten siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Maurine Miller of Oak Grove; daughter, Robin McCaffrey Schlautman (Gary) of Lumberton; grandchildren, Katie Weathersby (Blake), Lindsey McCaffrey, Lauren Adams (Eric), and Patrick McCaffrey; great grandchildren, Madison, Brody, Oliver, Charlotte, and Anna Katherine.
