Services for Mrs. Helen Walley Watson Hicks, age 82, of Lucedale, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Zion's Rest Missionary Baptist Church.  Mrs. Hicks passed from this life on June 7, 2023 in Lucedale, MS.  Bro. Chris Freeman, Bro. Scott Brocious, and Bro. Evon Freeman will officiate the service with burial to follow in Freeman Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be  Josh Everett, Tommy Freeman, John Barrow, Blake Dueitt, Chance Cameron, Kenny McCardle, J.C. Mizell, and Brannon Crager.

Mrs. Hicks was a member of Pilgram's Rest Baptist Church in Leakesville and was formerly a member of Zion's Rest Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker who dearly loved taking care of her family.  She loved to sew, cook, and take care of her flowers.  Above all, she was a woman who prayed for her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her first husband, James Thomas Watson; second husband, Bud Hicks; son-in-law, Keith Touchstone; parents, Ezra and Bertha Mae Walley; brothers, Harry, Harold, and Dale; and sister, Frances.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Jimmie) Everett of Leakesville, Vonnie Touchstone, Vanessa James Kittrell, and Nancy (Tracy) Freeman, all of Richton; grandchildren, Chris (Megan), Michelle (Brannon), Corey, Josh (Kayla), Kattie (John), Susan (Scott), Jenny, Tommy (Morgan), Macey (Kenny), Polly (Blake), Emily (J.C.), and Shelby (Chance); 32 great grandchildren, from 17 years old to 2 weeks old; sisters, Gail Freeman, Rachel (Donald) Green, Cathy Merritt, and Margaret (Bubba) Skipper, all of Leakesville.
