Services for Mrs. Gwendolyn Carol Thicksten, age 81, of Richton, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Thicksten passed from this life on December 1, 2025 in Hattiesburg.  Dr. Rory Dill will officiate the service and burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Rainey, Johnny Wayne Barnes, Jr., Jeff Barnes, Richard Thornton, Josh Dickinson, Bryan Mayo, and Pug Malone.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Dickinson, Lynn Rainey, David Dickinson, Lynell Thornton, Mechelle Donaldson, Rene Dickerson, Jackie Clark, Stacey Dickinson, Tracey Malone, and Angie Hall.

Mrs. Thicksten was a member of Loop Road Baptist Church and a retired dispatcher with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, where she faithfully served for over twenty years. She was also a dedicated member of the Eastern Star in Ocean Springs and a member of the Mardi Gras Krewes.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Thicksten; parents, Bilbo and Ollie Dickinson; brothers, Bo Dickinson, David Dickinson, and Mickey Dickinson; and sister, Billie Fan Rainey.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Denise (Derek) Clayton of Pascagoula; grandchildren, Leah Saundry of Vancleave and Alexis (Jared) Holder of Petal; great grandchildren, Isabella Boudreaux, Cooper Saundry, Clayton Holder, Winsley Holder, McKenzie Holder, and Penelope Holder; sisters, Eva Dickinson of Utica and Helene (Wayne) Barnes of Richton; special friends, Janet and Robert Mayo of Richton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
