10:30 - 12:00 p.m.

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Stateline, for Mrs. Gertrude Smith, age 83, of Stateline.  Mrs. Smith passed from this life on September 9, 2022 at Greene Rural Health Center.  Bro. Tracy Freeman will officiate the service and burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Vaden E. Brewer, Brian Daughdrill, Jason Cooley, Brandon Zehner, Noah Johnson, and Charlie Bufkin.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson McLeod, Thomas Shepherd, and Pat Brewer.

Mrs. Smith loved to garden and she also loved the outdoors.  She enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Ida Shepherd; husband, Charles Smith, brother, L. C. Shepherd; sisters, Marie Montford and Minnie Dixon; daughter, Belinda Smith; and son, Jansen Cooley.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky Reeder of Leakesville, Debra (Stan) Busby of Lucedale, and Neecy Smith of Leakesville; son, Ricky (Margaret) Shepherd of Citronelle, AL; brother, John Wayne Shepherd of Lucedale; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
