Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in the Jones and Son Chapel of Richton for Mrs. Georgia Mae Edwards, age 82, of Richton. Mrs. Edwards passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at her residence. Bro. Ronnie Smith will officiate with the burial to follow in the Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Ovett. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Warden, Logan Shows, Marlon Warden, Justin Jefcoat, Michael Rigney, Eli Rigney, Dusty Rigney and Tyler Lirette.

Georgia Mae worked for many years on the farm. She loved to work in the garden, and plant and grow roses. She loved going to church, revivals and Gospel sings, watching TV and loved The Voice. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by all those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Blackwell; second husband, Odis Edwards; daughter, Sheila Warden; son-in-law, Travis Warden; grandsons, Joseph Palmer and Jimmy Travis Warden; siblings, Maxine Murphy, Janet Stroud and Elizabeth Jones; and great-grandchildren, Kaiden Jade Fontenot, Wylon Chambers and two James babies.

She is survived by her daughters, Anita Palmer (Dean) of Waynesboro and Janet Carranza (Jesse) of Richton; son, Randall Blackwell of Ovett; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way; sister, Faye Clark of Ovett; brother, Eugene Creel (Debbie) of Ovett; her beloved pet, Paris and a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at Jones and Son Funeral Home of Richton.
