A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Jones and Son Chapel in Hattiesburg, for Mr. Gene Pevey, Jr., age 69, of Hattiesburg.  Mr. Pevey passed from this life on March 7, 2023 in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Pevey was a member of Tylertown Baptist Church.  He was a directional driller with Leam Drilling Systems of Conroe, TX for over 13 years.

Mr. Pevey was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Gene and Mary Pevey.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Pevey of Hattiesburg; son, Jason (Lisa) Pevey of McComb; daughter, Jessica (Jimmy) Jones of Tylertown; stepdaughters, Heather (Justin) Jackson of West Lincoln and Kimberly (Rickey) Smith of Lloyd Star; granddaughter, Brianna (Aaron) Adams of McComb; sister, Susan (Kyzar) Alford of Brandon; 6 step grandchildren, Kayla (Luke) Martin, Marlana (Lyle) Weeks, Craig (Anna) Smith, Gracie (Will) Rutland, Grant Jackson, and Abby Jackson; 10 step great grandchildren, Myles Smith, Lynleigh Smith, Tucker Weeks, Lizzie Pepper, Dianna Pepper, Nolan Martin, John Luke Martin, Owen Martin, Ava Joyce Rutland, and Kason Rutland; and nieces and nephews, Kasey (Jonthan) Blankenship, Kelli Gledhill, and Brandon Alford.
