Garrett Wayne Brewer, age 23, passed away on October 29, 2026, in Jackson County, Mississippi. Born on July 19, 2003, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Garrett was the beloved son of David and Kasey Brewer.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Garrett lived a life filled with family, friendships, hard work, and a love for the outdoors. He had a way of making memories wherever he went, and those who knew him will forever cherish the laughter, adventures, and moments they shared with him.

A 2021 graduate of Richton High School, Garrett went on to complete the Lineman Program at Jones College, beginning a career in an industry that demanded dedication, hard work, and a willingness to take on challenges. He worked with MDR, Byrd Electric, and Chain Electric before joining Singing River Electric Power, where he spent the last year of his life working as a Journeyman Lineman. He took pride in his work and in the path he had worked hard to build for himself.

Garrett had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest when he was outside making memories. Whether duck hunting, spending time at his beloved duck lease, fishing, playing golf, or riding down the river, he found joy in the things he loved. But above all, Garrett treasured time spent with family and friends. Those moments meant more than anything, and the memories made along the way will be held close by all who loved him.

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellis and Jesse Bell Brewer and Joyce Brewer.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, David and Kasey Brewer; his brother, Jacob (Lyndsey) Brewer of Richton; his sisters, Erin Smith (Colby Broom) of Walker, Louisiana, Stormy Brewer of Richton, and Kyleigh Cochran of Richton; his grandparents, Charlie and Robbie Akers of Oakwood, Texas, and Don Cargill of Tyler, Texas; his nephews, Lyndon Brewer, Asher Brewer, and Dawson Brewer; his niece, Lillyanna Broom; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and an untold number of friends who were blessed to know him.

Twenty-three years is far too short for a life so full of promise. Garrett's story is not measured by the number of years he lived, but by the love he gave, the friendships he built, the family he cherished, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His absence will be felt in the places he loved, on the water, in the woods, at the duck lease, and in the everyday moments when those who loved him wish they could share just one more day with him.

Though his journey here has ended, Garrett's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, in every story told, every laugh remembered, and every cherished moment that will never be forgotten.
