Frank Harold Jones went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2022, at his home in Richton, Mississippi at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Margaret Ann McCully Jones. Born in Hattiesburg, Frank was the son of Nina Barrett and Henry Lee Jones of Richton. At Richton High School he was a dedicated football, basketball, and classroom leader. He attended the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Eta Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After graduating with degrees in chemistry and biology in 1959, Frank volunteered to serve in the United States Army (Chemical Corps) and then spent seven years working with the Pepsi Cola Corporation in New York City.  His love for his hometown drew him back to Richton at which time he started a Standard Oil/Chevron distributorship. Later, Frank joined his father in the family business at Jones Funeral Home - proudly renamed Jones and Son Funeral Home - as owner and director until 2017.  Frank and Ann traveled the country to promote the betterment of funeral service as a whole, and he served twice as President of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Emma Sue Jones Scott of Greenwood; and his brother, Tommy Lee Jones of Ellisville.

Frank is survived by his three sons, Dr. Henry Lee Jones II of Hattiesburg, Dr. John Harold Jones of Fort Payne, Alabama, and Walter Parke (Lauren) Jones of Fort Worth, Texas.  He was thoroughly proud of his eleven Jones grandchildren: Sophia Elizebeth, Hamilton Payne, Isaac Douglas, Samuel Parke, William Crawford "Ford", Alice Ann, Ruth Barrett, Margaret Lynne, Parke Lee, William Randall, and Triplett Foster "Trip".

Frank Jones believed and trusted in his Savior Jesus Christ and so endeavored to live a life of faithfulness, service, and generosity. He was unwavering in his commitment to his family, the Richton community, and his work.  He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Richton where he served in several offices, including Chairman of the Deacons, as well as church treasurer for many years. Frank was the first Eagle Scout in Richton and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for his volunteer contributions when his boys were in the program.  He took great pleasure in cheering for his Ole Miss Rebels, sailing, and in traveling the world whenever he could.  He rarely spent a day without working on multiple concurrent projects at his "Frannland" home, the funeral home, or his family's retreat on the Pascagoula River. His retirement barely slowed down his pace, as "Mr. Frank" continued to show his love through acts of service alongside his dear friend and colleague, Robert Fredrick of Jackson.  Frank Jones's warm, bright smile and endearing nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Richton.  The funeral service will be on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Richton immediately followed by interment at Sunset Cemetery in Richton.
