Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, in the New Chapel United Pentecostal Church of Collins for Mrs. Flora Eloise Davis Thornton, age 98, of Moselle. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 18, 2023 at the Arrington Living Center of Collins. Rev. Floyd Odom, Rev. Tim Mains and Rev. Ken Hickman will officiate with burial to follow in the New Chapel United Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lon Keen, Hunter Keen, Chance Herrington, Shane Davis, Jay Lee, Christian Rushing and Tyson Evans.

Mrs. Thornton was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle in Hattiesburg. She was a retired floor supervisor after 50 years of service with The Big Yank Clothing Manufacturing Corporation in Hattiesburg.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Davis and Joe Thornton; parents, Bob and Selma Tyrone; great-grandson, McKinley Rushing; brother, Jimmie Tyrone and sisters, Kathryn Gatwood and Doris Bass.

She is survived by her son, Alan (Lucille) Davis of Moselle; daughter, Beverly Rushing of Brandon; sister, Gwen Evans of Collins; grandchildren, Daniel (Keira) Rushing of Brandon, Shane (Amy) Davis of Brandon and Nathaniel (Joanna) Rushing of Florence and great-grandchildren, Christian Rushing, Matthew Davis, Logan Davis, Caleb Looney, Hannah Looney, McKenzie Rushing, Mckinley Rushing, Mary-Leigh Rushing and Ann Marie Rushing.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. -2:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church in Collins.
