Services for Mrs. Faye Nell Wells, age 75, of Beaumont, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday October 6, 2023 at Leaf River Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont.  Mrs. Wells passed from this life on October 1, 2023.  Bro. Danny Collins and Bro. Jesse Ladner will officiate the service with burial to follow in Beaumont Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Welsh, Aaron Welsh, Ryan Dykes, Tristen Dykes, April Wells, Evan Sylvester, Kenneth Freeman, Aiden Byrd, and Bentley Byrd.

Mrs Faye Nell Freeman-Wells was born on March 19, 1948 in Beaumont, MS as one of 10 children to Clifton and Minnie Lee Freeman-Creech. She was a member of Leaf River Missionary Baptist Church for most of her life and she dearly loved her Lord! She was indeed a believer and her continuous and earnest prayer was that each of her children and grandchildren would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior before departing this life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing yard work, sewing, reading, and going on many wonderful trips, both in America and abroad. She always made good grades in school. She played basketball, was in the Beta Club, and 4H. She was a graduate of Beaumont High School. She then married and became a mother to two daughters, who she would later go on to raise as a single parent. She had many, many struggles but would later, in her 40's, go back to school for a higher education where she would earn her RN. She dearly loved her work and has helped an untold number of people during her career of which many have told the stories of the wonderful nurse they had. Some of whom she took such wonderful care of their dying mother and how it Blessed them so much and others that were grown men having to be chased around the exam table by her and told, per his words, "now, you need this shot and you're going to take it!! Being a Nurse was a great passion of hers and she always gave her Lord and Savior all the Glory for everything she was able to do through Him. She made a commitment to the Lord to spread His word and help heal His people for as long as He would allow her and part of this was by going on mission trips to South America for 30+ years to minister and provide medical assistance to needy people. She wanted to continue to do this work but the Lord had other plans for her life. At the age of 67, she was stricken with a rare, untreatable, and horrible disease, Multiple System Atrophy.  It would rob her of her health, paralyze her, and in 8 short years take her life. I never once heard her question God, "why me Lord?", but with honor and dignity she would fight the good fight and pray for healing but ultimately would say "Not my will but Thine Will be done Lord". She smiled and carried on with her life as best she could and appreciated each and every day the Lord blessed her with! She was a wonderful mother, sister, friend, and grandmother and we couldn't have asked for better. She will forever live on in our hearts and minds as our hero!!

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Marvin Freeman; mother, Minnie Lee Freeman Creech; and her sister, Margie Gail Pittman.

She is survived by her children, Penny Wells of Beaumont, MS and Rachel (Kevin) Welsh of Richton, MS, her grandchildren,  April Wells (Raven Byrd) of Beaumont, MS, Ryan Dykes of Beaumont, MS, Brittany (Addison) Lee of Purvis, MS, Aaron Welsh of Richton, MS, Maggie Davis of Moselle, MS and Adam (Chelsea) Beasley of New Augusta, MS; great grandchildren, Tristen Dykes, Trinity Dykes, Aiden Byrd, Bentley Byrd, Kingston Beasley, Adrian Beasley, and Daniel Beasley; brothers, Marvin Freeman, Elton (Faye)  Freeman, and Kenneth (Cyndi) Freeman; sisters, Margaret (Dewey Don) Breland, Dorothy (Douglas) Harvison, Elaine Brannon, Minnie (Wendol) Mizell, and Darlene (Danny) Collins; and many nieces and nephews.

To those of you who have helped our mother and grandmother in anyway, thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts for everything that you have done! Know that it has ALL been much appreciated, and we are grateful for you. To the many friends and family that have stopped by to visit her through her long illness or called just to see how she was doing, thank you so very much! We will never be able to repay you for this gift of love and compassion!!
