Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Jones and Son Chapel for Mr. Esra Brewer, age 95, of Richton.  Mr. Brewer passed from this life on November 23, 2022 at Asbury Hospice House.  Bro. Evans Freeman will officiate the service and burial will follow at Union Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Wylee Allen, Jeff Byrd, Billy Brewer, Mike McLain, Dempsey Brewer, and Curtis Woodard.

Mr. Brewer worked his entire life as a carpenter and was well known and respected in his trade. He served as a cook in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ida Mae Brewer; and siblings, Melba Manning, Myrtis Gatlin, Jean Watts, Tellie Brewer, and Bracie Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nelda J. Brewer of Richton; son, Keith (Jacinta) Brewer of Petal; daughter, Mollie Bussell of Hahnville, LA; granddaughter, Elizabeth Brown of Laurel; great grandson, August Brown; step grandchildren, Ethan Watts, Aidan Watts, and Belle Worbington; sisters, Winnie Dykes of Richton, Dororthy Crawford of Waxahatchie, TX, and Patsye Wells of Richton; brother, Walter R. Brewer of Richton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Asbury Hospice House for compassionate care, and also to the Patton Byrd family for assistance during this difficult time.
