Services will be held for Mrs. Emogene "Jimmie" Humphries, age 95, of Hattiesburg at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, in the Providence Baptist Church of Hattiesburg. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 7 2023 in the Landmark Assisted Living. Rev. Steven Platt will officiate with burial to follow in the Providence Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Humphries, Tony Humphries, Jimmy Campbell, Rusty Keyes, Brooks Townsend, Winfred Johnston, and Kerry Kelley as alternate.

Jimmie was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed yardwork, gardening, sewing, crafts and needlework. She and Wood traveled and camped throughout the United States and some parts of Canada for many years. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Lydian Sunday School class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Woodruff "Wood" Humphries; son, Charles Allen Humphries; parents, Denson and Alice Mathis; two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Steve) Rudolph of Hurley, MS and Barbara (Calvin) Daigle of Purvis, MS; grandchildren, Allen (Nicole) Rudolph of Athens, OH, Greg (Karen) Rudolph of Belton, TX, Windy Saucier (Ike) Keene of Jacksonville, FL, Nicole Daigle (Matt) Boudreaux of Purvis, MS; great-grandchildren, Jayce Kole Keene of West Palm Beach, TX, Kile Keene of Jacksonville, FL, Abbey Rudolph and McKenzie Rudolph both of Athens, OH, Keaton Rudolph and Jake Rudolph both of Belton, TX and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank everyone for all the prayers during Jimmie's struggles with her health and acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this time of bereavement. There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for all the prayers, sympathy and kindness in our time of sorrow. The love, support and comfort you provided will always be remembered by our family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Emogene "Jimmie" Humphries to the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1180 Eatonville Road, Hattiesburg, MS  39401.

Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Providence Baptist Church of Hattiesburg.
