A memorial service will be held for Elizabeth Smith at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Avera, MS, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.  Liz passed away at her residence and went to her heavenly home on August 1, 2022 at age 86.

Liz was a charter member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and worked in the medical field for over two decades.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bodie and Ida Walley; brothers, Ethra Walley, Melvin Walley, and A.W. Walley; sisters, Ethel Williams, Melonee Mason, and Lula Hinton.

She is survived by her sons Mike (Pamala) Smith of Magnolia, TX and Mark (Barbara) Smith of Sand Hill, MS; 5 grandchildren, Shelby (Maurice) Hood of Houston, TX, Jacob Smith of Austin, TX, Jared (Emily) Smith of Tyler, TX, Heather (Jared) Watford of Hattiesburg, MS, and Andrew (Ashton) Wade of Leakesville, MS;  13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
