Services for Mrs. Elaine Smith, age 75, of Richton, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Smith passed from this life on November 19, 2024 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Bro. Jackie Spell and Bro. Jacob Phillips will officiate the service and burial will follow in Frisco Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Edwards, Justin Edwards, Brett Steele, Randy Freeman, Jacob Phillips, Joe Meadows, and Jonathan Henderson as alternate.

Mrs. Smith taught in the Richton Public Schools for 26 years and also worked as a babysitter for several years.  She loved to cook, especially chocolate chip cookies for her family, as well as go shopping and camping.  She loved all of her family and had a big heart.  She was a member of Brewer Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.N. and Christine Steele; son, Brian Smith; brothers, David Steele and Tommy Steele.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Lee Smith of Richton; daughter, Tracey (Marshall) Henderson of Richton; brother, Robert (Euna) Steele of Beaumont; sisters, Jimmie Rose (John) Woodham and Billie (Jimmy) Walters, both of Richton; grandson, Jonathan (Cherie) Henderson of Richton; granddaughters, Emilee Henderson (Jacob) Phillips of Bay Springs and Aimee (Austin) Henderson of Laurel; great granddaughter, Gracie Love Henderson; 7 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
