It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Beech Jordan on February 13, 2025, age 88, surrounded by his family.  Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Sanford First Baptist Church. Bro. Ken Walters will officiate with the burial to follow in the Bullock Cemetery of Seminary. Serving as pallbearers will be Shelby Shoemaker, Billy John Graham, Jamie Broome, David Keup, Tony Lott, Terry Bullock and Billy Butler. Frank Riggs and Robert Emmons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Special music will be provided by Susan Deen, Babette Duty, Brian Dickens and David Moore.

Edward was born on January 5, 1937, to Jessie and Elizabeth Jordan and was the youngest of ten children.  Edward met the love of his life, Jean Jordan and were blessed with a wonderful marriage of 67 years.  Edward was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for his family and community and especially his love and devotion to his wife, Jean.  He was a devout member of Sanford First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and led the music.  He served in the United States Army and retired from the Mississippi Highway Department.  He loved to fish, garden, watch Southern Miss baseball, football, and watch all the old westerns. He was a very talented musician and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing for many years, until he was no longer able to.  There was never a dull moment around Ed. He was a "dad" to so many and always leaving a huge impression on everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean Jordan of Seminary; two sons, Marty (Liz) Jordan of Seminary and Jay (Lisa) Jordan of Oak Grove; his grandchildren Cassy (Jennifer) Jordan, Jamie (Cora Beth) Broome, Laurel (Stephen) Newell, Ashton (KC) Fitzpatrick, Patricia Jordan, Gabrielle Jordan, and Justin Burrow; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and a host of cherished friends and family.
