Services for Mr. Edward David "Ed" Welch, age 85, of Moselle will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Sanford Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary.  Mr. Welch passed from this life on September 19, 2025 at his residence.  Bro. Clay Willliamson and Bro. Ramsey Coutta will officiate the service and burial will follow in Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Welch, Benjamin Welch, Bonner Welch, Joseph Welch, Roger Welch, and Jimmy Pierce.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Harold Daughtry, Morris Welch, Steve Wade, Barry Lowery, Richard Woolwine, Charles Odom, Freddie Welch, and the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church Deacons.

Edward was born on November 27, 1939 and lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and hard work.  He spent most of his life as a barber, car salesman, and farmer.  In his free time, he found great peace and enjoyment in hunting and fishing.  He was a member of Sanford Missionary Baptist Church.  More than anything, Edward treasured the time he spent with his family.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend whose quiet strength and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Franklin and Zella Welch; brothers, Burl Welch and John Isaac Welch; and sisters, Berline Pierce, Hattie Wade, Christine Shows, and Jewel Riels.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elaine Welch of Moselle; sons, Stanley (Susan) Welch of Crystal Springs, David (Teresa) Welch of Moselle, and Joe (Patti) Welch of Ellisville; grandchildren, Michael (April) Welch, Brittany (Casey) Adams, Benjamin (Lauren) Welch, Claire Welch (Whit) Sanguinetti, Madeline Welch, Joseph Welch, Bonner Welch, Kristen Welch, Ashley Welch (John) Baird, Alina Lea, Anna (Thomas) Vanlandingham; and nine great grandchildren.
