Services for Mr. Edward Earl "Ed" Nichols, age 76, of Ovett will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Victory Heights United Pentecostal Church.  Mr. Nichols passed from this life on October 3, 2023.  Bro. Colon Rowell and Bro. David Williams will officiate the service and burial will follow in Welcome Home Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be William Overstreet, J.J. Nicholson, Bobo Clark, Malcolm Clark, Roger Earl Nichols, and Shawn Nichols.

Mr. Nichols was a member of Victory Heights United Pentecostal Church in Ovett.  He was a retired welder with Georgia Pacific after 18 years of service.

Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Beatrice Nichols; granddaughter, Kyra Nicholson; brothers, Willie Earl Nichols, Clinton Roger Nichols, and Donald Dean Nichols; and sister, Shelia Ann Creel.

He is survived by his wife, Dessie Nichols of Ovett; daughter, Lisa (Travis) Nicholson of Ovett; sons, Rodney (Angela) Nichols of Laurel, Randy Nichols of Laurel, and Dewayne (Mandy) Nichols of Ovett; grandchildren, Bailey Nichols, Zane Nichols, Shawn Nichols, Hunter Nichols, Dalton Nichols, and Kayden Nicholson; and sister, Francis Sanders of Ovett
