Services for Mr. Edsel McCardle, age 93, of Richton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mr. McCardle passed from this life on January 9, 2024 at Asbury Hospice House.  Bro. Rory Dill and Bro. Paul Roney will officiate the service and burial will follow in Odom Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Barnes, Ronnie Edwards, Clint Edwards, Brennon Hubbard, Adam Dykes, Jacob Wheat, Trace Dykes, and Randall Edwards.

Mr. McCardle was a trucker for over 40 years before he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian McCardle; parents, Arthur and Corrine McCardle; son, Billy McCardle; sister, Lois Kennedy; and brother, Bennie McCardle.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Lavelle) Dykes and Brenda (Bobby) Barnes, both of Richton; sons, Steve McCardle of Richton and Randy (Mona) McCardle of Clara; brothers, Arthur McCardle, Jr. of Cincinatti, Ohio, Thomas McCardle and Robert McCardle, both of Richton; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
