Services for Mrs. Donna Brasher, age 71, of Richton, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2026 at Jones & Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Brasher passed from this life on August 25, 2026 at her residence.  Bro. Scott Morris will officiate the service and burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Johnnie Browder, Alvie Brasher, Tristan Brewer, Ryan Walley, Alex Kittrell, and Danny Brasher.

Donna lived her life with a free spirit, a generous heart, and a deep love for the people she called family. Her husband, daughter, granddaughters, and great grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life, and she loved each of them deeply.

She had a joyful soul and found happiness in so many simple and meaningful things. Donna loved music of every genre, cooking for the people she cared about, traveling, singing, laughing, and sharing a good joke. Her sense of humor, warm personality, and unmistakable laugh made her someone people naturally enjoyed being around.

Throughout her life, Donna worked in a variety of jobs within her community before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1985. She went on to work in numerous nursing facilities and hospital settings, where caring for others became an important part of her life's work. She also helped launch a private-duty nursing service in Hattiesburg, extending her compassion and dedication to those who needed care in their own homes.

Donna also believed that dreams were meant to be followed. One of her longtime dreams was to drive a big truck, and in 2002 she made that dream come true when she earned her CDL license. She spent the next several years driving cross-country, seeing the country from behind the wheel and enjoying an adventure she had long imagined before eventually retiring.

In her later years, Donna enjoyed life at home while still finding ways to stay connected with others. She became a notary and a Scentsy representative and truly enjoyed the people who would stop by to visit. She was also known for sending "little happies" to others—small, thoughtful surprises that reflected the kindness and generosity that came so naturally to her.

To know Donna was to love her. She was caring, loving, funny, adventurous, and wonderfully free-spirited. She gave love freely, enjoyed life fully, and left an imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness, laughter, and love.

She was preceded in death by her father, James A. Brewer; mother, Ava Doris Brewer Yawn; brother, Wayne Brewer; and grandparents, Commodore and Virladee Meadows.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roy Brasher of Richton; daughter, Melissa Meadows (Mike Malone) of Richton; granddaughters, Autumn Herring of Hintonville, Destini (Tyler) Henry of Biloxi, and Emme Meadows of Biloxi; great grandchildren, Erin Herring and Hollie Herring, both of Hintonville, T.J. Henry and Olivia Henry, both of Biloxi; sister, Teresa (Mark) Henderson of Petal; and a host of other relatives.
