Services for Mr. David T. "Sugar Bear" Byrd, age 73, of Beaumont, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 at Arlington Baptist Church in Beaumont.  Mr. Byrd passed from this life on January 18, 2025 at his residence.  Bro. Kyle Walley will officiate the service and burial will follow in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Dalton Jordan, Michael Hall, Daron Hillman, Lonnie Byrd, Dewayne Hillman, and Donnie Parker.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Oakley Hall and Cason Jordan.

Mr. Byrd was a member of Arlington Baptist Church of Beaumont.  He was retired from International Paper Company where he was an equipment operator.  He was an avid fan of Ole Miss football and loved to watch western movies.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis "Bill" and Ora Lee Byrd; brother, Freddie Byrd; and sisters, Patsy Nell Hillman, Voncile Hillman, and Patricia Lowe.

He is survived by his daughter, Tonya Jordan (Alvin "Al" Creel) of Leakesville; grandchildren, Dalton (Maria) Jordan of Beaumont and Madison (Michael) Hall of Richton; great grandchildren, Josie Jordan, Cason Jordan, and Oakley Hall; and sisters, Hazel Lamp of Bay Minette, AL, Valene (Neil) Gottschalck of Beaumont, and Earnestine Easterling of Beaumont.
