Services for Mr. Dannie M. Carter, age 85, of Petal, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Runnelstown.  Mr. Carter passed from this life on August 12, 2023 at his residence. Bro. Ronald Nowell will officiate the service and burial will follow in Runnelstown Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Van Hensarling, Charlie Grimes, Hoss Conway, David Conway, Tracey Carter, Dennis Whitehead, and Raymond Sigrest as alternate.

Mr. Carter worked most of his life as a farmer.  He enjoyed tending his cattle and goats.  He also worked for the University of Southern Mississippi and the MS Forestry Commission.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Dorothy Carter; sister, Faye Travis; and brother, Dennis Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
