Services for Mr. Charles "Nick" Nicholson, age 92, of Richton, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Jones & Son chapel in Richton.  Mr. Nicholson passed from this life on January 24, 2026 in Hattiesburg.  Bro. Josh Dunn will officiate the service and burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Mercer, Dan Daniels, Hal Hodges, Tim Wise, George Pittman, Jimmy James, Derane Mayo, and Butch Breland.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Richton.

Mr. Nicholson was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Richton, where he formerly served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was also a dedicated Mason and a longtime member of the Richton Masonic Lodge.  He devoted much of his working life to the grocery industry, retiring from Sunflower Food Store in Richton after 40 years of service as meat department manager. He later retired as meat department manager with Walmart in Hattiesburg after 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cha Hollimon; parents, Theo and Verda Nicholson; brother, W.T. Nicholson; and sister, Bobby Hodges.

He is survived by his loving wife, Earnestean Nicholson of Richton; and his daughters, Cela (Frank) Steen of Seminary, Carla (Russ) Oswalt of Petal, and Marla Nicholson of Bay St. Louis.

The family asks that in lieu flowers, donations may be made to the Baptist Children's Village in memory of Mr. Nicholson.
