Services for Mrs. Charlene Shoemake Ivey, age 81, of Ovett, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Ovett.  Mrs. Ivey passed from this life on June 28, 2025 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.  Bro. Charles Waddell and Bro. James Salter will officiate the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Lanham, Grant Nobles, Lynn Smith, Ethan Smith, Garrett Peterson, and Mike Webb.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Konner Lanham and Karson Lanham.

Mrs. Charlene was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church for 81 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Ivey; son, Greg Ivey; parents, Vernon and Evie Dell Shoemake; brother, David Shoemake; and sister, Donna Scrigner.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Kevin) Nobles of Sumrall; granddaughter, Ashleigh (Kyle) Lanham of Sumrall; great grandchildren, Konnor Lanham and Karson Lanham, both of Sumrall; and brothers, Mike (Ann) Shoemake of Ovett and Bobby Shoemake of Texas.
