Services for Mr. Chad O'Neal Nelson, age 60, of Beaumont, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at River of Life Church in Hattiesburg.  Chad finished his earthly race on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in Hattiesburg.  Pastor Mike Ewoldt will officiate the service and Kendall O'Banner will give a eulogy.  Burial will follow in Beaumont Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be David Wardle, Paul Cook, Henry Thomas, Rob Cummins, Mark Cameron, Keith Arrington, and Jimbo Palmer as alternate. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Jefferson and Darryl Keys.

From a young age, as soon as he could hold a tool, Chad was taught by his father to build and repair anything with a motor. That early spark became a lifelong passion. He loved anything with wheels—old cars, race cars, and motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons. His mechanical gift was matched only by his deep loyalty and kindness. Chad was a genuine, dependable friend and a devoted family man. Chad leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep friendships, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard and Wilma O'Neal, Bill and Tempie Nelson; and his niece, Reed Magee.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Susan Breland Nelson of Beaumont; daughter, Lindsey (Seth) Lea of Beaumont; sons, Shane Nelson of Pensacola and Andrew Chad Nelson of Beaumont; his parents, Benji and Glenda Nelson of Brooklyn; sister, Tiffany Nelson of Brooklyn; brother, Chase (Liberty) Nelson of Brooklyn; nephew, Christian Magee of Beaumont; and niece, Brianna Nelson of Brooklyn.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
